Flexibility to work across various locations in New Zealand is preferred.The Steel Fixer is responsible for:Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms using appropriate tools.Fitting rods together according to blueprints using wire and pliers.Interpreting blueprints, sketches, or instructions to determine quantities, sizes, and placements of reinforcing rods.Supporting reinforcement placement, including placing blocks under rebar.Cutting rods to required lengths with metal shears, hacksaws, or torches.Fitting wire mesh or fabric into concrete to reinforce structures.Bending and welding steel rods as needed.Performing other duties as assigned.Skills and Experience:Minimum of 1 year relevant experience or qualification equivalent to NZQF level 2 or 3.Good time management, reliability, and a strong work ethic.Willingness to learn and develop skills within the industry.Knowledge of health and safety procedures.Pay Conditions: Starting from $25.50 per hour up to $32.00 per hour.Hours of Work: Minimum 30 hours guaranteed per week.Additional Information: Occasional travel to various regions across New Zealand may be required.If interested, please send your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and skills.
