Motivation and a results-driven attitude are essential.Flexibility to work across the country on various projects is preferred.The Steel Fixer will be responsible for:Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms using appropriate tools and fasteners.Assembling rods in forms according to blueprints, using wire and pliers.Interpreting blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions to determine quantities, sizes, shapes, and locations of reinforcing rods.Placing blocks under rebar to elevate bars during floor reinforcement.Cutting rods to required lengths with metal shears, hacksaws, or torches.Cutting and fitting wire mesh or fabric to reinforce concrete.Bending steel rods with hand tools or machines and welding as needed.Performing other related duties as assigned.Skills and experience required:Minimum of 1 year relevant experience or NZQF level 2 or 3 qualification.Good time management, reliability, and a strong work ethic.Willingness to learn and develop within the industry.Knowledge of health and safety procedures.Pay Conditions: From $25.50 to $32.00 per hourHours of work: Minimum 30 hours guaranteedTravel: Occasional travel to regions including Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, Southland, and others as needed.This role is permanent and full-time.
