You will be motivated and result-driven.You may be asked to work across the country to assist our projects, so flexibility on work locations is preferred.The Steel Fixer is responsible for:Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms using fasteners, rod bending machines, blowtorches, or hand tools.Spacing and fastening rods in forms according to blueprints, using wire and pliers.Determining quantities, sizes, shapes, and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions.Placing blocks under rebar to hold the bars off the deck when reinforcing floors.Cutting rods to required lengths using metal shears, hacksaws, bar cutters, or acetylene torches.Cutting and fitting wire mesh or fabric, and positioning it in concrete to reinforce.Bending steel rods with hand tools or rod bending machines and welding with arc-welding equipment.Performing all other duties as assigned.Skills and experience required:Minimum of 1 year relevant steel fixing experience or qualification equivalent to NZQF level 2 or 3.Friendly attitude, good time management, and excellent work ethic.A commitment to learning and developing skills within the industry.Knowledge of health and safety procedures.Reliable and hardworking.Pay Conditions: Min $27.76 per hour, up to $30 per hour.
