Our expanding business needs an organized and trustworthy individual who takes pride in quality workmanship.
Motivation and a results-driven attitude are essential.Flexibility to work across the country on various projects is preferred.The Steel Fixer's responsibilities include:Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms using fasteners, rod bending machines, blowtorches, or hand tools.Spacing and fastening rods in forms according to blueprints with wire and pliers.Determining quantities, sizes, shapes, and placements of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions.Placing blocks under rebar to elevate the bars off the deck when reinforcing floors.Cutting rods to size with metal shears, hacksaws, bar cutters, or torches.Cutting and fitting wire mesh or fabric, positioning it in concrete for reinforcement.Bending steel rods with hand tools or bending machines and welding with arc-welding equipment.Performing all other duties as assigned.Skills and Experience Required:Minimum of 1 year relevant steel fixing experience or NZQF level 2 or 3 qualification.Friendly demeanor, good time management, and strong work ethic.Commitment to learning and developing skills within the industry.Knowledge of health and safety procedures.Reliable and hardworking.Pay Conditions: Min $25.50/hr to max $32.00/hrHours of Work: Minimum 30 hours guaranteedLocation: Occasional travel to Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland may be required.This is a permanent full-time role.
