Our growing business requires organized and trustworthy individuals who pride themselves on quality workmanship.
You should be motivated and result-driven.Flexibility on work locations is preferred, as you may be asked to work across the country to assist with various projects.Responsibilities:Position and secure steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms, using fasteners, rod bending machines, blowtorches, or hand tools.Space and fasten rods in forms according to blueprints, using wire and pliers.Determine quantities, sizes, shapes, and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions.Place blocks under rebar to hold the bars off the deck when reinforcing floors.Cut rods to required lengths, using metal shears, hacksaws, bar cutters, or acetylene torches.Cut and fit wire mesh or fabric, using hooked rods, and position fabric or mesh in concrete to reinforce it.Bend steel rods with hand tools or rod bending machines and weld them with arc-welding equipment.Perform all other duties as assigned.Skills and Experience:Minimum of 1 year relevant experience or qualification equivalent to NZQF level 2 or 3 in steel fixing.Friendly demeanor, good time management, and excellent work ethic.Commitment to learning and developing skills within the industry.Sound knowledge of health and safety procedures.Reliable and hardworking.Pay Conditions:Hourly rate from $25.50 to $32.00.
Minimum of 30 hours guaranteed per week.Travel Requirements:Occasional travel to Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.Application:If you are interested, please send your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and skills.
