Spray Painter

We are looking for a spray painter to join our company.

Responsibilities:

* Removing rough spots on vehicle panels.
* Sanding surfaces by hand and with power sanders.
* Masking areas not to be painted with tape and paper.
* Colour matching and mixing paints to match paint shades and selecting pre-mixed paint.
* Applying primer and finishing coats using spray-guns, and sanding surfaces between coats.
* Touching up paintwork and applying polish to vehicles.
* Inspect painted panels for defects and ensure smooth, even coatings.
* Removing masking papers and waxing and polishing finished paintwork.
* Painting signs and artwork on vehicles.
* Treating vehicles with rust-proofing chemicals.
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including spray booths and equipment.
* Maintain inventory of painting supplies and report shortages.
* Keep records of paint jobs and materials used for each project.
* Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and waste disposal procedures.

Requirements:

* NZQF Level 4 qualification OR
* At least three years of relevant experience
* Skilled in mixing and applying paint using spray guns, including base coat, clear coat, and topcoat techniques.
* Ability to identify surface defects and apply appropriate repair techniques.
* Strong attention to detail and high-quality workmanship.

Pay: $29.66 – $32.00 per hour

* Rotating roster
