At Christchurch Hospital, we are building a collaborative and cohesive healthcare system where our professionals thrive in a supportive and innovative environment.The TeamThe Department of Anaesthesia is a large department which provides acute and planned anaesthesia services in Christchurch across two main campuses, Christchurch Public and Burwood Hospital.
Surgical services are provided for all the main surgical specialties including Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Neurosurgery, Trauma, Paediatric/Neonatal surgery, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Tertiary services provided for patients from outside Canterbury include Acute Spine, Oncological surgery, and endovascular clot retrieval.
The department is accredited for training by ANZCA and has a large number of trainees.The RoleWe are seeking to fill potential upcoming general Specialist Anaesthetist positions based at Christchurch Hospital.
We currently are seeking expressions of interest for both full-time permanent and fixed-term positions (3 months up to 18 months with negotiable part- or full-time options).
The Department will endeavour to accommodate specific clinical and non-clinical interests.

Your duties will also include participation in an on-call out-of-hours roster (potentially including obstetrics) and supervision of trainees.
