Position Overview

Software Licensing & Agreements Analyst

We are looking for a talented individual with a keen eye for detail and the ability to understand software licenses and agreements. You will have an interest in IT and enjoy learning about and managing the plethora of software assets in use across the University to support teaching, research and administration.

We are looking to appoint aSoftware Licensing & Agreements Analystto join our Business and Financial Services team.Reporting to the Manager, Business & Financial Services, this role has a strong focus on software licensing and is responsible for the effective application of policy and processes associated with the business and financial activities of the ITS department.

The position will be responsible forthe operational oversight and lifecycle management of software licenses and agreements for ICT services. The purpose of this role is to ensure all University ICT agreements and the products and services they deliver are managed appropriately and in such a way that assures compliance and performance, meet service requirements, and are cost effective.

You will be dealing witha large set of ICT licenses and agreements that are often technically complex; can involve significant costs and risks; are part of a highly competitive marketplace; often have high audit and compliance overheads; and deliver goods and services which continually change. Your business analysis, attention to detail and understanding of compliance will be required every day.

Our team is responsible for:
The Business and Financial Services team within the IT Services department provides oversight for a number of commercial and corporate services activities, including but not limited to overseeing the operational and capital budgets, financial reporting, variance reporting, supporting HR management processes, project and contract administration and co-ordination, IT asset and software license management, business processes, charging and reporting of IT services provided to the wider university, management of information and records specifically related to the IT Services department, provision of governance and general administrative support.

Areas of focus include:
• ICT Agreement Oversight: Provide operational oversight of the lifecycle management of ICT agreements and licenses and the products and services they provide.
• Compliance: Measure, test and monitor agreement and licensing compliance, ensuring that information, systems, processes and usage foster a license compliant environment.
• Performance: Measure, test and monitor agreement and licensing performance, ensuring that agreements and licenses are structured and managed in such a way that they are efficient, cost effective and are providing value.
• IT Asset Management: Developing and maintaining Software Asset Management (SAM) systems.
• Sector Engagement: Engaging with like organizations to benchmark and collaborate on product usage and supplier arrangements, to leverage purchasing power.

You will bring:
• Your analysis skills together with a high level of computer/ICT literacy.
• At least 5 years work experience in administration and co-ordination within a large organization preferably an ICT services provider.
• Experience or familiarity with legal documents.
• Demonstrated proficiency in developing and maintaining procedures and practices.
• A keen eye for detail and the ability to translate data into high level, meaningful and succinct summaries.
• Solid Spreadsheet modelling and data analysis expertise.
• A very good working knowledge of MS Office products.
• The ability and confidence to have robust and credible conversations.
• A proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders, management and peers.
