If so, we need YOU!Your expertise in AWS, Java, and Python will be key as you develop new features, maintain our existing products, and support our AWS infrastructure.
You'll also collaborate with external contractors to ensure smooth integration and project delivery.What You'll Be DoingDevelop new product features – From concept to production, you'll build new capabilities that improve the way Kiwis pay.Define architecture – Help design scalable, maintainable, and high-performing software that delivers real value.Enhance team efficiency – Automate processes, improve workflows, and find better ways to build and deploy software.Prototype ideas – Build proof-of-concepts to test and validate innovative new features.Support infrastructure – Define cloud infrastructure, deploy to production, and provide support to keep systems running smoothly.Mentor and coach – Guide junior and intermediate developers to help them grow into high-performing engineers.Do You Qualify?If you have the following skills and experience, you're a great fit:A tertiary qualification in computing, engineering, or a related analytical discipline (or equivalent industry experience).3+ years' experience as a software development engineer.Demonstrable experience with the software development life cycle (e.g., Agile, DevOps).Strong knowledge of Java, Python, and Unix-like operating systems.Extensive knowledge of AWS – you're comfortable working with cloud-based infrastructure.A good understanding of databases and database application frameworks (ideally MySQL).Competent with version control concepts, especially Git.Familiarity with development tools, automation, scripting, and concepts such as continuous integration/deployment/delivery.Knowledge of industry-standard internet protocols (HTTP, TLS).What We Need You to Be Good AtPragmatism – You prioritize getting things done over overthinking future requirements.
