About the Role:
The purpose of the NZ Payments Team is to transform Payments by fortifying existing platforms, simplifying and standardizing processes and technology and by enabling our business through reusable end-to-end services. The NZ Payments Team is responsible for building and running ANZ's payments services on on-Prem and cloud platforms based on Google Cloud and AWS, enabling the bank to make use of everything the cloud has to offer.
In this role you will have the opportunity to;
Work alongside our global team to leverage a strategic payments asset in ANZ
Manage and address a backlog of work related to NZ Payments projects
Work to build a cloud based solution that meets ANZ NZ regulatory compliance
Evaluate different tools and approaches to improve platform and processes.
Manage changes to instances cross on-prem and multiple cloud instances.
Deliver a fully automated solution with CI/CD best practices.
Create and influence design for cloud application workload.
Location: Wellington

Hours: Standard business hours {with some on-call or after hours}
About you
As an Engineer within the NZ Payments Team, you will be responsible for building and running the services for one of NZ’s largest financial institutions. Don't let that scare you though, we're doing things differently for the cloud.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally be/ bring or have;
Be a specialist in creating product design by writing technical design document.
Expertise in Automation and best-practices in CI/CD Development and automation.
The ability to design, build and operate large scale container workloads across multiple clouds
The ability to build and run Cloud technology at scale and have experience with either AWS, GCP or Azure
A good communicator and problem solver that can understand and translate business needs into strategic technology roadmaps and architectural principles
Ability to consult across business and technology with a view of compliance impacts
Articulate and communicate trade-offs for architecture decisions to both business and technical audience to obtain buy-ins to the solution
Experience in design solutions using Microservices solutions including APIs
Experience in migration of on-prem solution to Cloud
Experience in migration of vendor product to in-house
Experience in using project management tools like JIRA, etc.
Exposure to REST API development.
Have a proven track-record in Agile Delivery – preferably within the digital space but definitely putting features in the hands of customers.
Ability to advise upon product design and best practices
Experience with at least one programming language (bash, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, Swift), and you use these skills to automate as much as possible
Experience in using cloud native tools
Experience working with operations and architecture groups developing scalable and supportable solutions
Knowledge of SQL and above - Writing SQL queries
Cloud certification is a bonus
