The role is embedded in the SAP Basis squad, which is a key part of the Transactional Banking Platform.About the role:As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in the Software Consultant position, you will provide an advanced level of technical expertise, leadership, and ownership across a complex environment supporting the ASB business.
You will analyse and optimise the environment for reliability and scalability while delivering cost-effective performance.
This position fulfills a senior technical leadership role within the team.What you will do:Technical:Ensure high availability of systems through your knowledge of incident management, capacity management, change control, problem management, and availability management processes.Assist the Squad on system transformation and modernisation into the cloud.Lead Problem and Incident Management.Understand how changes will impact the environment and services being supported.Recommend, develop, and implement initiatives to improve technology and processes.Ensure adherence to Audit, Security, and compliance requirements.Ensure adherence to change management requirements.Stay current with relevant technologies.Implement, adhere to, and contribute to the development of technical standards.Ensure the quality of technical solutions.Process management and process improvement.Improve overhead, efficiencies, and cost reduction.Lead by example with well-rounded skills and commitment to all areas of responsibility.Demonstrate excellence in mentoring.Demonstrate excellence in execution of technical responsibilities.Show leadership in meeting the direction of technologies across multiple projects and initiatives.Administration of DR/BCM & Backup plans.Knowledge sharing.What are we looking out for?The following capabilities are necessary:10+ years supporting enterprise environments.Automation mindset to automate highly repetitive tasks.Expert in both Windows and Linux virtual machine administration (RHCE certified), Ansible.Monitoring and observability exposure.Hands-on experience with Source control and CICD tooling.Consulting mindset.Capable of mentoring junior team members.Experienced in driving conversations, operating standups, and familiar with Agile/Scrum ways of working.These capabilities are not mandatory but would be favourable:Sound knowledge of the ITIL framework.Information Security knowledge, high security awareness.Experience in Azure Cloud platform.Experience in Infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform.Having any two of AZ104/AZ204, AZ400, AZ305, AZ700, AZ500, SC100 certifications would be beneficial.Working at ASB:ASB's sense of who we are and what we stand for is grounded in our values, guiding our business in our day-to-day interactions with our team, customers, and community.
