The Role
BRANZ are embarking on a digital transformation journey in 2020 and are wanting an experienced Technical Lead to join the team and go on the journey with them. Reporting to the IT Manger, you will be accountable for the development and architectural design of software and reporting services for BRANZ, as well some involvement in research and strategy for consultancy projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Development - Develop in-house applications for corporate research and consultancy services across BRANZ. This includes build of new tools, integration and support / maintenance of existing applications
Database Administration - Helping with database administration and operational management for core structured database systems as well as automating database reporting.
Code management & standards - Management of the BRANZ developed source code in a central repository
Business Analysis - Work with key internal stakeholder to gather requirements and write technical specifications.
Relationship management - Build and maintain strong relationships with BRANZ staff. You will need to simplify complex terms into easy to understand language.
Key Skills
10+ years' experience in software development or architecture. Strong technical competencies with Java, .Net, C, R and Python are desirable.
In depth knowledge of SQL and various reporting systems, ideally PowerBI or Crystal Reports
Thorough understanding of SDLC and best practice methodologies including DevOps (CI/CD) and Agile ways of working
A can-do attitude and willingness to go above and beyond to deliver what is needed.
