Competent in Te Reo Maori?
Fixed term until early 2021
Family Works Northern provides a range of strength-based practice child and family services, programmes and community development initiatives located in 11 community based centres and numerous schools in the Upper North Island. Our Tauranga based site is looking for a successful Social Worker competent in Te Reo to work within several Kura Maori; providing early intervention and preventative social work services to Tamariki and their Whanau, using a strengths-based, multi-systemic approach.
To be successful in this role you will be:
A qualified and experienced Social Worker
Able to work across cultures
Interested in developing group work skills and facilitating a range of needs based preventative programs
Experienced in working alongside Tamariki and their Whanau
Familiar with the Primary and Intermediate School environment
A “can do” person, with outstanding communication and people skills
Registered or eligible for registration with the SWRB
Able to converse in Te Reo with a sound understanding of tikanga Maori
Have good computer skills, a reliable car, and a current full driver’s licence.
