Social And Community Support Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to provide community and social support for ex-prisoners and their whanau in Hastings and/or Napier.You will work alongside another volunteer and provide social support for ex-prisoners experiencing isolation.We are looking for people who have up to 2-hours to give every week, or fortnight, especially those available during normal business hours.We would love to hear from you if you have some, or all, of the following attributes:Empathetic, open-minded and acceptingA good listenerCalm under pressureAble to adhere to boundariesFlexibilityKnowledge of the Hawke's Bay community services and facilitiesHave previously worked in social services, or have experienced the criminal justice system, either personally or alongside whanauAble to complete basic documentation of your workPARS provides full training.
Car drivers licence, own transport and mobile phone required.Vetting is required but previous convictions can be discussed.
