Benge & Co Green Grocers - Nelson & Richmond

Snr Produce Assistant / Cashiers - Benge & Co

Details of the offer

We are looking for new team members for our Richmond and Nelson Benge & Co Green Grocers.

Seeking people we will love working with that know how to get stuff done!

Industry experience can help, however the ‘how to’ can be taught to someone with the right attitude, willingness, discipline and ability to focus and learn.

All roles require full training in the specifics of the operation, however someone with the attributes above can be confident they will be able to make a noticeable impact in no time.

All roles require good decision making and maturity. They all have opportunity to develop and grow leadership and responsibilities for those that step up, show integrity, and work well with others.

We love working with an energetic crew. There’s lots to do, and when everyone is hustling, working smart and with urgency, it rocks!

Every single person on the team is essential and you need to consistently choose to ‘bring it’.

Respect for your team is showing up on time, every time. We are all getting out of bed early, looking after those fruits and veges as they arrive early every morning, checking they are looking their best, and tasting delicious for our customers throughout the day. You want to know your teammates are going to be right there alongside you making it happen too!

No talent in the world trumps being consistently reliable.

At Benge & Co Green Grocers you are working for a wholly independent Green Grocer locally owned by two siblings. No big corporates, no franchises, no out of towners behind the scenes.

Every single day you will get to work among the freshest produce there is, keep fit, and see the impact of your efforts right in front of you. Now that is satisfying!

We are open 6 days in our Nelson Store and 7 in our Richmond Store. We are open 10-12 hours a day.
We need a flexible bunch; happy and able to work our opening days, in either store, and adapt to a variety of shifts.
(i.e 5 days a week, approximately 35-45 hours per week for for full time, a combo of Monday – Sunday. We don’t mean you have to work 7 days a week every week!)

Full Time Roles mostly a combination of:
6 – 2.30/3.30pm
7/8 – 4/5pm
9/10 /6.30pm
and a few variations on weekends.

Part Time Roles mostly a combination of:
and longer shifts on Saturday and Sunday and over holidays.

What else you will need:
• Full, clean, drivers license to legally operate a vehicle in NZ.
• Excellent physical fitness.
• Worked at least 1 year fulltime in the workforce

1. Describe your suitability for an active, physical role and your ability to work with urgency.

2. Confirm your availability, flexibility and ability to attend work reliably.

3. Confirm you have a current, clean, full NZ drives license to legally and safely operate a vehicle.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
