The Role
We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join one of our engineering teams that is expanding their remit to include operational responsibilities. You will be a bridge between development and operations. You will collaborate closely with product developers and test automation specialists to ensure that the designed solution responds to non-functional requirements such as availability, performance, security, and maintainability.
A key contribution is to support release engineering and optimization to support our teams who are driving for more frequent releases to deliver value to customers earlier. So they will help ensure the software delivery pipeline is as efficient as possible.
In this role you can expect to:
Spend time thinking about inefficient and time-consuming things people are doing and address it.
Advise and represent best operational practice and helping the team to automatically bake this into the tools and processes they use.
Along with the team you are in, take on-call responsibilities and work with the team to make sure you are never called - especially after hours.
Handle incidents and facilitate post-mortems to help identify what is working and what is not and help the team continuously improve.
Collaborate with other SRE and architects to identify core foundational services and incorporate these into our product lines.
What we are looking for:
You will be obsessed with one thing in particular: automation.
You will have experience maturing the provision of infrastructure as code
You will experience with code management, build systems, deployment automation, and installers.
You will have experience in operational practices such as ITIL, incident management, change management, OLA/LSA monitoring and reporting.
You will have experience in security, patching and hardening of servers and environments.
You will have experience in at least some of our technology stacks: Amazon Web Services (AWS)Administration and maintenance of Linux Serversautomation tools and scripting: Python, Selenium,Terraform, CDK, Cloud formation, Ansible, Jenkins, Git, Active Directory
