Job Description
We are looking for an SRE/DevOps to be a key contributor on the Environments Public Cloud Ops Team. You will help the team in building a user friendly, scalable, and reliable tools framework.
You will work closely with others in Environments teams to help automate cluster build outs, validation, patch deployment, tenant provisioning and other operational tasks. As a more experienced member of the team you will help, guide and mentor fellow team members.

So, where exactly does the Environments organization fit into the Workday picture?
The Environments organization is responsible for pushing new code to our existing customers, along with monitoring the health, performance and reliability of the Workday stack. Within the Environments organization, Public Cloud Operations are a global team focused primarily on building, configuring, deploying and providing automated tooling to support the Workday application in Public Cloud.
About You:
You love solving the complexities of orchestrating a deployment.
You dislike doing things twice, so you automate each step along the way.
You strive to make things self-healing, elastic, automatic, repeatable, and well tested.
You are passionate about technology and enjoy investigating new tools and techniques to explore better ways of automating operational tasks.
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or related discipline or experience.
High degree of comfort in object oriented and functional programming.
Experience deploying and utilizing one or more: AWS, OpenStack, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
You have experience in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
You are an experienced Python, Ruby or Java coder.
Experience implementing, designing, deploying: Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless (Lambda’s).
Experience with one or more orchestration deployment tools: CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Chef.
Strong background in Linux and Shell Scripting.
Experience with one or more CI tools: Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo, Artifactory.
Experience with SQL and MySQL databases.
Excellent documentation skills.
