You'll work closely with our Shop Manager on Manchester Street, helping to manage stock allocation and ensure our store stays at the top of its game.In this role you will:Oversee day-to-day operations of the shop, including presentation, stock-sorting, pricing and opening and closing proceduresLead a team of Assistant Managers, Volunteers and support an effective and collaborative team environment, while maintaining shop rosters to ensure effective operationsRecruit, train and retain shop employees with the support of the Retail Regional ManagerFoster a positive team culture by providing training and development opportunities to enhance customer service and skills.Provide superior customer service and lead by example, maintaining professionalism and ensuring all employees and volunteers reflect the New Zealand Red Cross valuesProvide monthly reports on shop performance, sales trends, donations, and volunteer activities to the Retail Regional ManagerBe available to work Tuesday to SaturdayTo be successful you will have:Demonstrated knowledge of retail operations, stock management, sales drivers, administration, banking and cash handlingA minimum of 2 years experience in a management role, preferably in retail or a customer service oriented roleProven ability to lead, motivate, train, and develop teams, ensuring high performance and fostering a positive work environment.Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to manage difficult situations and de-escalate conflicts effectively.Knowledge around ensuring all goods are priced within the Price guidelinesExperience in training and leading volunteers with diverse skills and abilitiesAbout New Zealand Red CrossNew Zealand Red Cross is part of the world's largest humanitarian network, with over 10,000 members and employees dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable people by mobilising the power of humanity and increasing community resilience.Guided by our Fundamental Principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality, we support people in times of need and help strengthen their resilience.We are committed to having an accessible, diverse, inclusive, and barrier-free work environment where everyone can reach their full potential.
