The Team
Due to movement within the team, a position has become available as a Services Engineer to join a small, dynamic and highly effective team of engineers, technicians and tradespeople. You will be working in a modern environment, managing one of the largest and most sophisticated Building Management Systems in New Zealand. Within this role you will be involved in extensive and varied problem solving from diagnosis to resolution in regard to Building Services installations.
The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
Development and maintenance of the Building Management Systems at all of the sites
Help to engage and oversee the contractors carrying out maintenance and project related work
Promoting and developing safe work policies and procedures for implementation throughout the organisation
Ensuring all systems are regularly inspected to enable capital expenditure to be estimated
Recommending to the Facility and Engineering Manager when any changes or improvements are necessary
The position of Services Engineer reports to the Facilities and Engineering Manager, and you will have the following:
A tertiary engineering qualification in either an electrical or mechanical field
The ability and initiative to undertake project work from conception through to commissioning
A good understanding of Hospital Building Services which may encompass generators, medical gas systems, boilers, LTHW and chilled water hydronic systems, central chillers and electrical control systems
You may not have all the above experience, but will be keen to learn, have a sharp eye for detail, and the drive to excel in your role.
This is a full-time, permanent role, and there will be an on call roster requirement. In this role you will be responsible for building services and building management systems across all CDHB and WCDHB sites so some limited travel will be required.
