Show your exceptional skills in technical writing for a range of audiences! Capability Development, within the New Zealand Government Procurement and Property branch, is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join our team. We\'re looking for someone to be the plain English communications expert in the team, who will lead the scoping, development and update of externally-facing guidance, templates and other content to support government agencies to build their commercial capability across the procurement and property portfolios.

The successful applicant will develop and update a range of written content for government agencies, including updating our guide to procurement and procurement plan templates and developing guidance to support new policy initiatives. You will be able to translate technical information and complex concepts into clear and effective language that is understood by a range of audiences. You will be comfortable working autonomously and leading discussions with government and private sector stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop content and seek feedback. You will also work closely with our Stakeholder Engagement team, Online Channels and Design teams.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
An in depth knowledge of, and experience in, producing written resources for adults to convey technical information in Plain English.
Excellent influencing/promotional, interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
Excellent relationship management skills
Understanding of good procurement practice
A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline would be an advantage but is not a requirement

Ideally we would like you to work full time however for the right addition, we are open to a minimum of 30 hours part-time.
