You will be responsible for handling the most important and complex technical writing whilst ensuring efficient delegation of work to junior level technical writers which you will being reviewing their submissions for accuracy.You like to get ‘in to the weeds’ of the applications that you develop documentation for. You are not afraid to fire up an application and get to know it enough so that you are able to pick holes in developer provided documentationDuties and Responsibilities:Production of high quality and on time documentation that is fit for purpose and is appropriate for the intended audience.Ensure Wirecard’s documentation processes are optimal and efficient to ensure timely delivery and quality of workWork with internal Wirecard business units to ensure that the documentation team has a greater understanding of our Card Management Solutions, Payment Simulation applications and are able to generate the required hiqh quality documentation. Also focussing on reuse and single-sourcing of existing and potential content.Creation and maintenance of the documentation Confluence Space to enable easier access to documentation by internal staffOngoing evaluation of department priorities and re-focusing resources as required, including Level of Effort (LOE) estimation for large documentation projects.Ensure your team has a great understanding of their role and how it fits in with Wirecard’s overall strategy. Also ensure that the team goals and priorities are understood by the documentation team.Conduct and complete team performance reviews by due datesEncourage personal and professional development within the team by putting in place clear objectives and a self-development plan.Take ownership of problems and ensure required actions are completed to meet customer requirements. Actively remove barriers to get the work done.General system administration tasks for ConfluenceConduct ongoing research on best practices for technical documentation, spanning new ways of information mapping and new documentation tools.Maintain documentation related knowledge bases for the team as well as for Wirecard staff.Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Head of Application DevelopmentRequirements5 years proven working experience in the technical writing of software documentation (examples must be provided)3+ years proven leadership experience, leading a small documentation team3+ years using ConfluenceExcellent command of English both written and verbalCommitment to quality and attention to detailAble to grasp complex technical concepts and break them down into easy to understand text and images (Online help, Technical Reference Guides, Data Dictionaries, Developer Guides, User Guides)Strong in the concepts of SDLC and software development as a whole.
