Senior Technical Systems Analyst | Wellington City

This role is within the Development and Operations team of BTIS is to ensure the integrity, efficiency and accessibility on the Ministry's IT systems. The Senior Technical Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting the ongoing operation and maintenance of IT systems by providing user support, maintaining system documentation, contributing to fault diagnosis and resolution, system enhancements, engaging with business users and vendors. The Senior TSA will also haver more leadership responsibility and will need to train and assist others when required.
Through processes and system improvements and developments this role will be supporting ongoing operation and maintenance of IT systems by undertaking troubleshooting exercises, issue resolution and system enhancements. A key area will also be facilitating engagement meetings with different Business partners and multiple Vendors.
You will be responsible for streamlining systems and processes by:
reviewing, analysing and reporting on current strategies, data, statistics, operations,
technologies and procedures
developing methods and models for improvement
liaising with key stakeholders and aligning to BT&IS and MPI strategy
supporting implementation processes.

And will contribute to capability and capacity through:
assessment of needs and impacts
recommendation of business solutions, applications and tools
checking that the stated end requirements of users are being met
education of users on the software development cycle and application tools

You will need to have a customer centric approach, to work as a collaborative team member with a positive problem-solving approach and attitude.
We look for team members who are not afraid to venture outside their comfort zone and to learn from any mistakes or failures. As part of a team, you will collaborate throughout the software development life cycle, in order to create business values with common goals which are aligned to BTIS and MPI strategies.
The salary range for this position is $86,500 to $101,800.
