Senior Shepherd

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our team at Parikanapa Station, 35minutes from Gisborne.

Parikanapa is a progressive hill country property wintering 25,000 sheep & cattle stock units.

Production is based around 11,000 lambing ewes and 750 calving cattle.

This position is a great stepping-stone to further your career and skills in the sheep and beef industry. Both on farm, Ag ITO & Farmax training is fully encouraged and supported. Depending on experience, there is room to take on plenty of responsibility within this role. Parikanapa has good infrastructure and offers excellent dog work.

We are looking for someone who has the following:

- a strong work ethic, is self-motivated, honest & reliable

- enjoys working in a team environment

- good communication and recording skills

- a proactive attitude towards health and safety

- good stock sense and shepherding skills

- good team of working dogs

- willingness to learn

The role also comes with a comfortable three bedroom house with the primary school bus to Waerenga O Kuri School stopping at the gate.
