As a unique Kiwi and Pacific insurance provider with over 150 years of history, our roots trace back to Dunedin.What you will be doingThis role within the Transformation Team leads project delivery across the Tower portfolio of projects and Agile squad initiatives and leads learning pathways within Tower, developing our people in Project Management practices, enabling project teams to deliver beautifully simple and rewarding experiences that our people and customers rave about.Dive into the heart of your responsibilities:Lead project teams through all phases of a project life cycle including ideation, mobilise, design, build, testing & deployment and maintenance.Accountable for developing and managing a project scope, financial plan, resource plan, risk analysis and delivery schedule that meet a defined business case.Ensure the project team adheres to governance and delivery standards, ensuring transparency and that visibility of risks, issues and dependencies are communicated to governance groups with the necessary urgency, along with robust record keeping and auditability.Ensure sponsors, governance groups and executive leaders are kept highly engaged and informed throughout the project life cycle and that guidance is raised for their direction in line with governance standards, within effective timeframes.At times lead project teams during Discovery phases through Procurement processes to RFP and agree commercial terms for new vendors who will support project delivery.Interface directly with leaders, employees, vendors, and others to clearly define project requirements and expectations.Identify complex risks, lead reviews, create treatments and implement action plans.Manage multiple projects simultaneously.Responsible for collaborating with other project managers, project teams, squads and stakeholders to identify opportunities to optimise project outcomes, identify gaps, remove barriers or duplication, and leverage cross dependencies within agreed resourcing and financial constraints.Maintain a strong understanding of business strategies, goals and missions and technology road maps.What you'll need7+ years of experience in IT project management, including leading and delivering medium to large, complex projects.Insurance experience is highly desirable.Experience leading teams, managing stakeholders and motivating project team members.Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, such as agile, waterfall and hybrid approaches is essential.Budget and financial management of projects along with vendor and contract management experience.A strategic thinker with the ability to problem solve, negotiate and drive successful outcomes.Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical challenges into business solutions.Our commitmentWe pride ourselves on encouraging everyone to bring their whole selves to work, embracing diverse opinions, experiences, and backgrounds.
