Your Role
KiwiRail have mechanical servicing and maintenance depots of varying sizes across New Zealand. We are embarking on a once in a generation upgrade of these assets. The changes these upgrades will bring will positively impact not just KiwiRail but New Zealand's transport infrastructure as a whole.
Sitting within the Capital Projects and Asset Development (CPAD) group and reporting to the Programme Director - Mechanical Facilities, we have created a new role for an experienced Senior Project Managers. Our SPM will support the delivery of new build, upgrade and retrofitting of KiwiRail's nationwide portfolio of Mechanical Facilities. These key assets will be used for the servicing, maintaining and upgrading of KiwiRail's rolling stock fleet and are essential to the safe and smooth operation of our business.
Working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders you will ensure alignment and achieve successful project outcomes (time, cost and quality). Responsible for the project lifecycle, you will scope, organise and monitor progress, seeing them through to their successful completion, actively looking for innovation and improvement opportunities. Your core responsibilities will include creating high quality project plans, obtain stakeholder input, procurement of design and construction resources and undertaking comprehensive and timely reporting to support KiwiRail's management and governance structures.
Your Skills
As a Senior Project Manager with a background in Civil/Structural Engineering, candidates with previousindustrial building constructionexperience will be highly regarded and given priority, however we welcome applications from associated infrastructure disciplines. Rail experience is also considered useful, but not essential.
Equipped with advanced communication and interpersonal skills you also possess a methodical mindset and tenacious approach to your work. Your ability to form strong, long-lasting relationships enables you to effectively manage contractors to achieve positive project outcomes.
Most importantly we are looking for someone with a proactive mindset that can work in an ever-changing landscape and get stuck in.
