Senior Project Accountant

Your Role:KiwiRail has an opportunity for a Senior Project Accountant to support our Capital Projects and Asset Development (CPAD) business. As a senior member of the CPAD finance team, you will work proactively across multiple programmes of work and with multiple stakeholders to ensure alignment, and ultimately achieve successful outcomes. Working hand-in-hand with the Project Manager/s, you will have an in-depth knowledge of the projects' activities, ensuring financial forecasts and costs are aligned and on track. In addition, you will be responsible for coordinating a small project accounting team, ensuring business transactions are captured, classified and processed into accurate and timely financial information that is relevant and useful.Your skills:Our Senior Project Accountants truly partner with the business. As such we are looking for a highly customer-driven, commercially savvy individual. The ability to gain credibility and influence at a senior level is essential. This is a hands-on role and will require a can-do attitude and willingness to operate across a wide range of project accounting activities.
