Position: PHP/Web Developer Status: Open Job Type: Full time Location: East Tamaki, Auckland When: Immediate Key Responsibilities: Develop and Maintain Web Applications: Develop and maintain complex web applications using PHP and other related technologies. Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of web applications. Code Review and Quality Assurance: Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code. Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards. Implement and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and functionality. Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and team members. Contribute to technical discussions and decision-making processes within the development team. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with all stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions. Participate in project planning and contribute to the development of project timelines. Database Design and Management: Design and optimise database schemas for efficient data storage and retrieval. Write and maintain complex SQL queries and stored procedures. Front-End Development: Ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end functionalities. Stay Updated with Industry Trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in web development and PHP. Propose and implement improvements to current processes and technologies. Debugging and Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues in web applications. Debug and troubleshoot application issues and implement effective solutions. Security Best Practices: Implement security best practices to protect web applications from vulnerabilities. Conduct regular security audits and apply necessary patches and updates. Performance Optimisation: Monitor and optimise application performance, including server-side and client-side. Implement caching strategies and other performance-enhancing techniques. Client Interaction: Offer technical support and guidance to clients as needed. 5+ years of experience in a PHP development role Advanced proficiency in PHP and the Laravel Framework Strong understanding of unit testing and test-driven development Strong knowledge of MySQL and database design Familiarity with Webpack, NodeJS, and NPM Experience with responsive design frameworks such as Twitter Bootstrap Ability to write robust, clean, and well-documented code Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Additional Information: Available to work Monday to Friday, starting anytime from 9 am, for at least 8 hours each day Able to commit to a long-term position Open to relocating closer to our office in East Tamaki, Auckland if needed Kiwisaver (for eligible applicants) Clear communication skills are vital for conversing with the employer regarding job requirements Willingness to follow or adhere to our ticketing system for task management and tracking Application Requirements: CV Please use the form below if you wish to apply for this role.
