About The RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mainframe Operations Specialist to take the lead in managing and enhancing all aspects of the processes and procedures associated with the Development and Production batch systems.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Develop, test, support, maintain and monitor Control-M scheduling for Batch, Reporting and File Transfers on Mainframe and Distributed (server) platforms
Provision the SDLC (Service Delivery Life Cycle) environments (Production/System Test/Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT)/Performance and Verification (P&V) and Education) for Systematics and VisionPlus
Technically review, analyse, enhance and improve processes and procedures, with a focus on automation to reduce manuality, ensuring maximum efficiency and accuracy for the Operations Analyst Team
Monitor and support Production and Development batch executions across all platforms and resolve incidents
Design, develop, maintain, refine, automate and document reliable processes and procedures that ensure stable systems and batch - ensuring these processes are presented in a format that is clear and simple for the user to follow
Maintain own high skill levels of all Operations Analyst team processes, tools and deliverables, understand other team processes and mentor colleagues in these, to mitigate knowledge risk.

About YouYou will be a seasoned mainframe specialist with extensive knowledge of IBM mainframe architecture and system software. You will have had at least 5 years’ experience as an Operations Support Analyst, Shift Operator and/ or a Systems Programmer in an IBM z/OS Mainframe Operating Environment.
To grow and be successful in this role, it is essential for you to have a demonstrably high level of skill and understanding in the following areas;Scheduling of Batch across Mainframe and Distributed platforms using IOA Control-M and Control-M/EM software
File Transfer Protocols - specifically Connect Direct
JCL coding of Jobs, Procs and Parms
Endevor
Production Batch Monitoring and Support
Criticality of batch SLA and Incident Record handling
Importance of Change Record management
IBM Operating System, CICS, Utilities and Msg Queues
IBM Mainframe Storage and file and record formats
