As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Senior Manager – Sustainability and Regulatory Affairs to lead the charge in ensuring we remain compliant with evolving regulatory requirements and driving initiatives to achieve our climate goals.Role Overview:As Senior Manager – Sustainability and Regulatory Affairs, you will play a pivotal role in leading Fidelity Life's climate-related disclosure programme and execution of initiatives to achieve our climate goals.
You will be responsible for ensuring the company operates in a compliant, environmentally responsible manner, managing our carbon footprint, assessing climate-related risks and opportunities, and overseeing the execution of emissions reduction initiatives.
You will also support the Regulatory Affairs function, including monitoring the dynamic regulatory environment, engaging with key external stakeholders such as regulators and industry bodies, and supporting the business to understand and comply with regulatory change.
Reporting directly to the Head of Regulatory Affairs, you will help guide Fidelity Life's sustainability efforts while fostering a culture of compliance and environmental stewardship.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:Climate-related disclosure and sustainability• Lead the preparation of Fidelity Life's annual Climate Statement in compliance with Aotearoa New Zealand Climate Standards.• Develop and implement processes for climate-related disclosures and GHG inventory management, including Scope 3 emissions from supply/value chains and financing activities.• Drive the measurement and monitoring of sustainability performance and lead emissions reduction initiatives.• Assist with the development and monitoring of climate-related targets, ensuring that sustainability initiatives are aligned with corporate goals.• Uplift the organization's knowledge of sustainability practices, ensuring the business is prepared to adapt to changing regulations and expectations.• Support external climate audit processes and ensure robust climate-related disclosures.Regulatory Affairs & Stakeholder Engagement• Stay informed on emerging regulatory and policy trends impacting the financial services sector.• Support Fidelity Life's engagement with regulators and industry bodies to ensure compliance and contribute to industry discussions on sustainability, regulation and policy.• Coordinate responses to regulatory requests, notifications, and investigations.• Collaborate with internal teams to communicate the impact of regulatory changes and advise on adjustments to business operations.Desired Skills and ExperienceWhat We're Looking For:We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager – Sustainability and Regulatory Affairs with a strong background in sustainability management and regulatory compliance, particularly within the financial services sector.
The ideal candidate will have:• A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Law, Business, or a related field (with certification in sustainability or environmental management preferred).• 5-7 years of experience in sustainability management, regulatory affairs, or a similar role, ideally within the financial services industry.• Expertise in sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., TCFD, CRD, GHG Protocol, ISO14064, PCAF).• Proven ability to drive initiatives for emissions reductions and sustainability performance.• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and the ability to navigate complex compliance requirements.• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.• Demonstrated ability to manage projects, analyse data, and provide actionable insights to the business.Apply Now:If you're ready to make a meaningful impact on the future of sustainability and regulatory affairs at Fidelity Life, we'd love to hear from you.
