The Senior Specialist, Strategic Risk within our Risk Governance team will play a key part to making our world a safer place.
This is a permanent position and can be based anywhere in NZ. We are committed to providing flexible working arrangements including flexible hours and working from home options.
Utilising your technical capability across enterprise risk, strategic risk and risk governance you will support the IAG New Zealand enterprise and make a difference by:
Identifying emerging trends, risks and opportunities in the internal and external environment and integrating these with other business intelligence to produce reporting and insights that influence strategic and operational decision making.
Developing and deploying a robust approach to the regular refresh and maintenance of the IAG NZ Enterprise Risk Profile, in alignment with corporate strategy development and the IAG Enterprise Risk Profile methodology.
Critically reviewing the NZ Enterprise Risk Profile using external and internal insights and challenging and influencing senior leaders, ensuring that mitigating actions are robust, targeted and progressing in line with expected timeframes.
Developing the IAG NZ risk appetite and metrics, in alignment with local stakeholder and regulatory requirements and the IAG Group Risk Appetite Statement.
Providing leadership and specialised advice to the first line of defence and senior business stakeholders in the creation of risk maturity plans, to achieve desired outcomes in relation to organisational risk maturity.
Measuring and assessing the performance of NZ Business Units against risk maturity targets, in alignment with Group Risk Maturity methodologies.
Supporting the production of risk related reporting to senior IAG governance committees and the Risk & Strategy leadership team, as required.
Critical to your success will be your:
10 + years' experience in developing, operating or advising on risk and compliance frameworks in a financial services organisation, legal firm or professional consultancy firm.
Experience in dealing with a range of stakeholders (including senior management) on risk related matters
Degree or post graduate qualification in business, commerce, law or related fields.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven experience in collating documents, opinions and insights together into briefing documents for senior stakeholders.
Ability to interpret and analyse complex data and issues
