Senior Manager - Reporting

We are seeking a Senior Manager - Reporting, to provide strategic and technical leadership in shaping our reporting strategy and roadmap.
This role involves developing foundational reporting capabilities on our Modern Data Platform (Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, and Power BI), while decommissioning legacy systems like Business Objects and the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
You will drive self-service reporting, ensure data governance compliance, and maintain reporting accuracy through quality controls.
As a champion of best practices in data management, you'll contribute to the Analytics Strategy, Data Strategy, and Modern Data Platform implementation while identifying opportunities for analytics, automation, and machine learning.Leading a team of 10 data professionals, you will mentor and coach to ensure high performance and alignment with organisational goals.
Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to prioritise delivery and achieve strategic objectives.We are looking for a candidate with:10+ years of experience in Data and Analytics roles, including 5+ years in senior or technical leadership.A proven track record in leading data migration projects, managing complex stakeholder relationships, and delivering results within scope, budget, and timelines.A degree in Computer Science, IT, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field is essential.Proficient in modern data platforms (Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, and Power BI) and can lead transformational changes in processes and methodologies.Public sector experience is a strong advantage.Auckland Council is one of the largest local authorities in the South Pacific providing essential services and facilities to more than 1.6 million people.
