We are looking for aSenior Hardware Engineerto fill a position at our Research and Development Centre located in Wigram, Christchurch.

Role/Duties:
Develop new products and variants through the product lifecycle process
Work in cross-functional teams of hardware, firmware, test automation and mechanical engineers
Specify, design, verify and debug complex circuits for our inverters and ancillary products
Performance test products and sub-systems
Assist product compliance engineers to achieve global certifications for our products.
Specify engineering requirements, create test plans and generate test reports
Provide technical mentoring to manufacturing and field application engineers
Mentor junior engineers and supervise lab work
Provide subject matter expertise at an advanced level
Qualification and Previous Experience:
B. Eng. and 5+ years experience outside of university or
Masters and 3+ years
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must have and be able to demonstrate
Digital hardware design experience including interfacing, MCUs, PSUs including SMPS
Real world experience in developing electronic products from the concept stage to market launch.
Knowledge of circuit schematic, PCB layout and simulation tools
Practical experience in testing and debugging hardware using oscilloscopes, multimeters etc

RF technologies; Zigbee, Bluetooth, cellular (NB-IoT / Cat-M1)
Understanding and application of EMC design principles
Python programming with interfacing to test equipment
Appreciation of firmware in embedded applications and real-time applications
