NES is proud to partner with a key client on a business critical role for a Chapter Lead – Electronics Firmware, operating within their Power Protection Agile Unit and based at their manufacturing plant in Napier, New Zealand.
With a limited candidate pool within New Zealand, our client is open to international candidates and is prepared to support both Visa and relocation processes.With a state of the art R&D facility, this is a unique opportunity to work within a market leading R&D team, based on the same site as manufacturing, allowing you to see your work come to life in real time.
R&D is not a second thought within the business and is well funded, presenting the chance to really feel the difference you make and bring complex solutions to life.We are looking for a technical expert who leads by example and uplifts their team's skills and competencies through a collective desire to accomplish goals.
Experience within power systems and controls is vital due to the speed and performance requirements in real time and the complexity of the components of the product.Responsibilities include:Using technical expertise to develop and optimize firmware of the Power Protection portfolio and hone firmware capabilities.Acting as a coach and leader within the chapter and ensuring team members and the unit as a whole are in a position to succeed.Building competencies within the team around programming, simulation, commissioning products, and firmware architecture design.Championing the recruitment of new team members and taking accountability for supporting them across agile business units.Conducting performance reviews, collecting input from relevant stakeholders.To be considered:Degree qualified with a Master's Engineering degree preferred.5+ years of experience within R&D firmware development.5+ years of experience leading or mentoring teams in R&D development.Significant experience using C, C++, and assembly languages.Strong problem solving and debugging skills, preferably within power electronics and control hardware.Experience with power systems, on-site commissioning, and in a lab setting with power testing.Strong consultancy, analytical, and communication skills, being fluent in English and possessing proven leadership qualities.Working within an Agile unit structure is advantageous.This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to relocate to New Zealand and join a business at the forefront of their industry and be empowered to make a real impact.
