Studio Almond are seeking a full-time Senior Digital Designer to join their growing team.
You will have raw talent, curiosity and a strong creative instinct—and help us deliver work for our clients which is bold, conceptual and unique.
You will be a team player who will be generous with ideas and have strong beliefs—loosely held.You will be the driving force behind digital output, and work in our digital design team to develop the creative vision of a project.
The majority of the creative heavy lifting takes place by you, and it's essential you're not afraid to get stuck in on all levels of work.

You'll have strong problem-solving skills; knowledge of UX processes and methodologies and great positivity + interpersonal skills.About the roleThis is a key role for Studio Almond which involves working on both client website projects and internal initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a knack for crafting compelling narratives that drive engagement and conversion.The right candidate will be a team player with great attention to detail and thrive in tackling day-to-day tasks within a dynamic, high-performing environment.The candidate will interact with clients, forming valuable relationships while ensuring that their scope of work is managed and communicated and expectations are clear.This role would report to the managing director & creative director and is responsible for helping facilitate creative options and contribute to the ongoing optimisation of a high-impact innovative framework; this will empower team members to work autonomously as much as possible while managing tasks, workflow, and progress updates.Experience / Requirements:5-7 years hands-on experience as a Designer working in a design studio / agency environment (minimum 4+ years as a UX/UI designer)Notable experience designing complex user interfaces for eCommerce space for different scale projects, with high complexities and longer timeframesExperience with building client relationships, owning the project from start to finish acting as the lead client contact across a project.Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills; able to work across multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to work autonomously without supervision to provide check-ins, progress reports, and updates to internal team and directors.Strong creative instincts and willingness to push further through experimentationResponsibilitiesGenerate ideas with strong conceptual foundations to produce memorable website experiences capturing the essence of the client's brand.Have a thorough understanding of user-centered design, responsive design, mobile first design, and web standards.Confidently present ideas and concepts to internal team and clients.Work jointly with other UX/ UI designers to provide input and help solve complex interaction problems.Quality Assurance testing on website projects to ensure execution and consistency of the experience.Continuously strive for improvement and innovation, seeking inspiration from diverse sources.Site Audits + Use data from user testing to improve designs and ensure they meet users' needs.Conduct research and gather insights on consumer behavior, competitor activities, and market trends to inform and enhance design strategies.Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes and interactive mock-ups to test the feasibility of a website structure before beginning the development processPassionate exploring and executing motion and animation application to websites.ToolsFigma + Prototyping to a high levelProficient in Adobe CC Illustrator and PhotoshopShopify CMS + AdminFlexibilityWe recognise that different team members thrive in a mixture of working environments, whether working from home a few days a week, in the office full-time, or starting earlier in the day - these are the realities of modern life.We embrace this if it services both our team members and the company.The position will have the flexibility to work home 1 day a week.Our studio culture is an integral part of who we are, and working together in person helps to foster this culture and strengthens our team.We encourage our team members to spend time in the office to help build and maintain our positive and collaborative work environment; this includes participating in team activities, attending meetings, and engaging with colleagues to foster a sense of community and teamwork.CultureStudio Almond is looking to become one of the best places to work in New Zealand.Our team members are truly appreciated, seen and valued.This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to take your career to the next level, and be part of a design studio that is looking to become not only design and development, but thought leaders in the NZ and AUS eCommerce industry.At Studio Almond, our team members are the most valuable asset.That's why we provide all the tools and support necessary to succeed in their roles and beyond.We're a growing business and work with you to define your role and career.
