About the Role
We need an experienced web and content design specialist to join our busy and dynamic team.
You will be responsible for leading the work on mfe.govt.nz, working as a team with the digital advisors. This includes making sure our content is structured for easy navigation, and optimised for search. We need to write content that meets the needs of our varying our audiences. For all New Zealanders this means creating an experience that connects with them and helps mobilise them to take action on the environment.
The team is responsible for gathering insights across digital channels, to understand our audiences' needs, aspirations and values. We'll use these insights to measure our progress, and work out how we can make things better. You will be responsible for analysing user behaviour and feedback on mfe.govt.nz. You will conduct user research to make sure our website is meeting our audiences' needs.
We need to be digitally inclusive, bring te ao Maori into our work, and keep people's information safe. If you can write digital content in te reo Maori, you will help take our digital channels to the next level.
You will need to be a real team player, to create a joined up experience across our digital channels, that helps build our brand. You will be keen to share your skills and inspiration to support others in the team. This might include working with them on social media content, video, analytics and customer research.

Skills and Experience
Our ideal candidate will offer:
Excellent writing and editing skills, including plain English
Experience with information architecture and structuring content for findability
Excellent understanding of web accessibility and usability
Excellent technical skills using Google Analytics, Google Search Console and building dashboards in Google Data Studio
Excellent web content management and html skills for web publishing
Excellent customer service to all our internal clients
Experience making recommendations and influencing on issues relating to digital channels.
Experience with user research and testing
A genuine team player, with experience applying Agile values and principles,working across channels and supporting other team members
Strategic thinking, able to see the big picture and collaborate on how to get there
Positive can-do attitude, helping to enable a diverse and inclusive culture
About the Team
The Digital and Insights team manage social media, web, intranet and our consultations tool. We work closely together in an Agile way, to connect our work and better support the Ministry. Our culture is collaborative, creative and fun.

Salary range for this role is $75, 829 to 98, 131. Appointment within these ranges will be based on skills and experience.
