This connection means that the designer can get to site to see their designs being constructed and subsequently helps to develop more well-rounded engineers.This role will see you contributing to the fast-paced and dynamic Green Grids Team within the wider Design and Engineering Team delivering exciting and innovative projects. We relentlessly look for ways that we can exceed expectations and are committed to solving industry challenges and delivering advanced solutions to our customers.We have a reputation for developing innovative design solutions and with a pipeline of exciting projects ahead, we are looking for an individual who wants to come along on this exciting journey with us!From concept design through to commissioning, you will be responsible for delivering a variety of projects, utilising your ability to design from scratch while also delivering efficiency through adaptive design, improving on existing products.Specifically, you'll be engineering High Voltage Designs to suit customers' needs through high quality CAD drawings and documentation, with provision for installation, commissioning, and maintenance - delivering a focus on the design quality and inherent safety.Developing Green Grids design solutions within the Industrial and Distribution spaces for both renewal and new construction projects often consisting of:- Privately owned Industrial High Voltage network design- Decarbonisation projects- New Solar Installations- Battery and Microgrid Investigations- Asset Management PlansUndertaking High Voltage designs in any or all of the following roles:- Project Manager- Primary Engineer- Secondary Engineer- Protection Settings EngineerDeveloping concept options for discussion and consultation throughout the design processDeveloping high quality CAD detailed design drawing sets in collaboration with dedicated draughting resources when neededProducing industry leading design reports, equipment specifications, installation specifications and commissioning plansUndertaking research on innovative design solutions to overcome unique site or client-based requirementsDemonstrating subject matter expertise internally and externally (peer review, publications, presentations)Managing large or complex projects with multiple resources, delivering on time and in budgetProviding instruction, advice, and active mentoring to junior colleagues in a supportive and collaborative wayCollaborating effectively with all stakeholders, suppliers, and external resourcesConnecting with clients to discuss and develop new opportunitiesEstimating and scoping new work to deliver project proposalsA level 7 electrical engineering qualification or equivalent experienceExperience in undertaking high voltage designs in any or all of the following disciplines:- Project Manager- Primary Engineer- Secondary Engineer- Protection Settings EngineerComprehensive understanding of standards and best practice in NZEvidence of delivering successful projects on time and in budgetExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenA current and valid driver's licence and be eligible to work in NZSkills and/or familiarity in CAD softwares such as AutoCAD, Inventor and RevitCurrent professional registration with a widely recognized industry body such as Engineering NZWhat we offerAt Connetics we offer flexibility and a range of employee benefits to ensure everything is in balance.
