That means delivering better outcomes for our clients, helping our people to realize their potential, and doing our part to create a prosperous society.Every day we help our major global clients deliver ambitious and highly technical projects, in over 110 offices worldwide.We are currently seeking a Senior Cost Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing infrastructure team engaged on a number of New Zealand’s most exciting and challenging infrastructure projects.Although based out of our Auckland office, you will normally work from our clients offices on a variety of commissions ranging from larger multi-year programmes to short-term advisory support.You will be passionate about the roles that you undertake, and be driven to support our continued success. In return, we offer an inclusive and energetic working environment, where everyone has the opportunity grow.Job DescriptionYour objectives will differ for each commission but will include responsibilities such as:Establishing friendly, professional and appropriate relationships with clients, colleagues and other parties involved in the projects and programmes we support.Proactively engage with our Clients at a senior level.Administering a variety of contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies.Providing accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting.Managing risk throughout a project’s life cycle.Undertaking value management / engineering exercises as required.Production of costs plans, estimates, benchmarking analysis of schemes.Produce commercial reports incorporating metrics (e.g. EVM, outturn analysis)Experienced in change, risk and value managementIdentifying new opportunities and assisting in the development of bids/tendersSupport and develop others within the business.The ability manage and motive small teams.Proactively providing sound commercial knowledge and support to all stakeholdersUnderstand the trends throughout the markets in which Turner & Townsend operates, including competitors activitiesResponsible for pre- and post-contract quantity surveying duties.Tendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, putting the preliminaries together, tender analysis, producing the tender report and compiling the contractual documents.Measurement of quantities based on design drawings.QualificationsIdeally Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.Hold an appropriate professional body membership or equivalent (RICS / NZIQS) or be working towards the samePrevious experience working on infrastructure projects in the water, power, rail, highways, marine or aviation sectors would be an advantage, although candidates holding appropriate skills within other sectors will also be considered.Activates you should however be able to demonstrate an understanding and minimum of 7 years’ experience of include:Contract Management (NZS3910 / 3916, NEC)Change ControlRisk ManagementProcurementEstimating (Cost X or similar)ReportingBenchmarkingValue Management / EngineeringFinal AccountingWide knowledge of construction technologyAdditional InformationOur inspired people share our vision and mission.
