About the roles
We are excited to welcome applicants who are New Zealand Registered Dietitians to join the dietetic team at Dunedin Hospital, Southern District Health Board. We have two new roles that will provide support to their identified areas.
The 1.0 FTE position is part of the acute inpatient team, and we welcome applicants from those with five or more years experience who may have special interest in Surgery or medical areas such as renal or respiratory. The 0.5 FTE dietitian will work with paediatric diabetes patients in outpatients and provide cover to support the inpatient unit when required.
These exciting and challenging NEW roles will offer lots of variety and will capitalise on your passion for dietetic care. You will have a focus on improving health literacy and education, as well as your ability to enthuse your patients and motivate real behaviour change. You'll be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, working closely with health providers and you'll be driven to ensure best health outcomes for patients and their whanau.
About you
You'll have clear and open communication skills that allow you to foster positive relationships with patients, whanau and the wider MDT. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic team player who is willing to take on new challenges and raise the profile for dietetics. Ideally you will have five years recent clinical experience, as listed in the position description.
As a New Zealand Registered Dietitian, holding a current Annual Practicing Certificate with Dietitian Prescriber endorsement You should also hold a full, clean driver's licence.

The Dunedin dietetic and diabetes teams are small, close knit dedicated teams of professionals with the same interests as you - "putting the patient at the centre of everything that they do". We offer supervision and ongoing professional development.
If you are self-motivated efficient and productive, able to prioritise and manage a busy case load and bring energy and enthusiasm, we would love to hear from you.
