Over 300 people from 10 different engineering disciplines work out of our Christchurch office, which has a depth of knowledge and exciting office culture that enables our people to play a huge role in the day to day life of people in Canterbury.
We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join us and work with key clients in the civil infrastructure sector. Project work typically encompasses medium to large projects across the South Island, but you will also have the opportunity to work on other projects throughout New Zealand and across the Pacific. With the strong focus that we have on our people, we are open to discussing different flexible work arrangements for this role.
Working with some of NZ’s best civil engineers to deliver flagship projects, you will:
Be responsible for delivering projects on time and to budget, while meeting clients’ needs and expectations Seek continuous improvement in the design process, including the use of new technology Communicate positively and effectively ensuring that team members, managers and clients are well informed of your project tasks. Be able to collaboratively undertake conceptual designs through to detailed design, contract procurement and construction administration with a small team Consolidate and extend technical skills and show initiative in seeking learning opportunities Demonstrate effective communication, presentation, networking and consulting skills Develop and mentor others to grow successful careers Foster client relationships that contribute to repeat business
About you
We’re looking for someone who loves to learn and share knowledge – someone who can bring a fresh perspective to ensure the development of the people around them and who constantly seeks better practice for the overall quality of our work and our client experience. You will be a qualified in civil engineering, preferably chartered (or aspiring), with a strong track record earned in a consulting engineering or contracting environment.
Your strengths in technical leadership, project delivery, client relationships and in guiding and mentoring staff will ensure your success in this role. You will be passionate about the opportunity to grow others, be motivated by being in leadership roles with the ability to ‘own’ the delivery of quality client outcomes throughout the region.
