Reporting to the Business Analysis Lead, the purpose of the Senior Business Analyst - Data/BI role is:
To proactively identify, prioritise and coordinate process and system improvements across Cigna NZ
To elicit business requirements, with a focus on Data/BI, so that they are translated into effective solutions
To provide analytical and problem solving skills that can be applied to a broad range of technology and process challenges of varying complexity
To identify and apply ongoing improvements to agile Business practices within the Information Technology team and the wider Cigna community to ensure we deliver timely, good quality products and outcomes
To work collaboratively with other members of the Information Technology Team to ensure that seamless service and support is provided to our user community
To take ownership of their own learnings by attending training, meetings where ideas are exchanged, researching and reading materials that will help and support their development
Critical Tasks and Expected Contributions / Results
Elicitation and analysis of business requirements. This includes analysis of the customer journey and the processes and technology needs to satisfy these requirements
Agree and document the Minimum Viable Product that meets the business needs, including detailed acceptance criteria
Lead project work as part of an agile, multi discipline team, in order to deliver user stories rapidly and to a high standard of quality
Run agile ceremonies including daily stand up meetings, story writing workshops, sprint planning and retrospective practice reviews
Proactively keep abreast of market intelligence and professional development through attending industry seminars, reading relevant literature and furthering education
Work with other Cigna team members to continually provide new ways of working to allow us to successfully deliver best value to our customers
Demonstrate creative problem solving skills, including pinpointing problems and where they lie; finding alternative solutions to these problems
Coach other team members in order to help improve their skills and knowledge
With a core focus on Data/BI related projects and initiatives, this role might be assigned to support other projects as the business requires
Experience/ Education /Knowledge Requirements:
7+ years business analysis experience
Proven background with BI and Data Anaylsis teams and projects
Ability to deliver quality results in a busy and dynamic customer focused environment
Excellent verbal communication, analytical skills and critical thinking
Open mind and willingness to learn from and teach peers
Knowledge and experience with Agile development methodologies
Ability to bring new ideas to the table, a passion for all things digital and a willingness to go the extra mile
Understanding of agile software design techniques, continuous integration and DevOps deployment practices
A degree in a relevant discipline such as Information Technology, Commerce, Information Systems or equivalent field of study and professional experience
Banking/Finance Insurance industry experience would be an advantage
