From within the Office of the Chief Executive we provide strategic and tactical marketing and communications advice across the organisation.Reporting to the Communications Lead - External and Media, in this role your focus will be on external communications and building Stats NZ's positive profile.
We're looking for a generalist practitioner who can play a key role in identifying and managing communication and engagement risks and thrive on managing multiple priorities and often complex subject matter.To be successful in this role you'll:be a generalist communications professional with at least five-years' experience in a similar role, including external communications, government relations, media and public relationsbe comfortable switching between big picture strategy, creative thinking and tactical marketing and communications operationsenjoy being busy and "doing the doing"be skilled at converting strategic, complex or technical information into clear, compelling material that's fit for purpose and audiencebe a plain language champion, with a clean, concise and engaging writing styledemonstrate sound relationship building skillsbring a can-do, whatever it takes attitude, alongside ideas, creativity and an interest in the value of datahave a good understanding of economic, social and governmental influences, the political environment and other agencies and groups likely to impact on our organisation.What you bring | Nou te rourouWe understand transferable skills can come from experience gained from outside of work.
