The Mental Health and Addiction Directorate brings together the 'end-to-end' activities and functions for mental health and addiction services, including strategy, policy, data analysis, service planning and improvement, commissioning and monitoring. It will also lead the response to the Inquiry into Mental Health and Addiction. Addiction recovery is a priority programme within this work, and we are seeking a Senior Advisor to join the Addictions team.
In this role you will be responsible for providing advice on preventing and minimising gambling harm, implementing new initiatives, and working with external stakeholders to improve the health and well-being of New Zealanders.
You will need to be a well-rounded team player with experience in building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including on the implementation of new initiatives, and have demonstrated advanced oral and written skills. Some experience of policy advice would be beneficial.
This position will be assigned to the Addictions team and report to the Manager of that team.
This position is a permanent position, based in Wellington.
