We provide impartial, evidence-based advice to the Government on mitigating and adapting to climate change.

We uphold the treaty partnership by ensuring our work reflects Maori views and Te Tiriti o Waitangi The Treaty of Waitangi.Te Turanga | The roleThe Senior Advisor, Communications and Engagement will drive the end-to-end communications and engagement processes to support the Commission's work programme under the CCRA.
This includes communications advice, planning, content development, and stakeholder engagement.This role will be assigned to various project teams and may be required to provide organisation-wide support as required.The likely appointment range for this role is between $111,842 to $131,579 per annum, depending on skills and experience.Nga herenga | The role will involveCommunicating complex information in ways that are compelling and can be easily understood, including adapting communication styles to the needs of the situation and audience.Providing communications and engagement leadership and support on a diverse range of projects, ensuring efficient execution and delivery.Delivering stakeholder and engagement communications plans, helping to develop stakeholder engagement and communications tools and templates, and operating as the system owner for identified channels relevant to your role.Preparing speeches, media statements, presentations, commentary, social media content and other materials in a clear and well-structured manner related to specific projects.Supporting a culture of collaboration and inclusiveness in the team and the organisation.Demonstrating that cultural responsiveness is valued, understood, and applied within the Commission by embedding te ao Maori (te reo Maori, tikanga, kawa, Te Tiriti o Waitangi) into the way we do things.He korero mou | About youThis is a job for an experienced practitioner in their field, across government, private or non-government sectors nationally and/or internationally.To be considered, you will have proven experience in a senior communications role and a tertiary qualification and/or equivalent work experience.
Experience working on issues related to climate change will be an advantage.In addition, you will have:Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholdersStrong strategic thinking and analytical skillsExperience in product design, publication, and communicationsDemonstrated high levels of integrityKnowledge of the machinery of government, the contemporary political environment and government policies, and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi/Treaty of Waitangi and Te Ao MaoriExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalHighly effective planning and organisational skills, including time management and prioritising work in a complex work environment.He pehea to tono mai | How to applyClick the apply button below to view a detailed position description and submit your application.
