If you've got your finger on the pulse of New Zealand's financial markets, this is for you.You will be responsible for monitoring compliance with applicable accounting standards and financial reporting legislation and requirements for reporting entities. You will need to regularly engage with market participants on financial reporting matters and ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements with the ultimate aim of ensuring that investors have access to the information they need to make informed decisions. You will also need to collaborate on financial reporting matters with the wider FMA as well as its external stakeholders. This role will also see you involved in the drafting of guidance so that market participants have clear and well-understood responsibilities.Our ideal candidate will have:A relevant tertiary qualificationCA or accounting equivalentExcellent technical accounting knowledgeIn depth knowledge of financial reporting requirements as they apply to reporting entitiesStrong analytical, critical thinking and reasoning skills including risk-based harms-focused thinking5+ years of experience in technical accounting advisory, financial statements audit or senior industry experienceThis is a great opportunity for a technically excellent individual to gain in-depth understanding and experience across a range of financial reporting regulatory responsibilities.
