Senior Accountant / Finance Manager

Up to NZ$100000 per annum
My client based in South Auckland are looking for a Senior Accountant/ Finance Manager to lead their small finance team.
The successful candidate:
Must be CA qualified with a good understanding and commitment to the code of ethics.
Must have excellent analytical and Excel skills
Must have good communication skills as this is part of the SMT (senior management team). Expect regular reporting to the Board of Trustees.
Must have the ability to guide non-financial Trustees and senior staff through financial reports and analysis.
Will be responsible for the audit process and liaising with external auditors.
Ideally to have worked in a NGO with some knowledge of the government contract/funding application process. (Not required)
Good knowledge of MYOB
Ensure the implementation of proper accounting procedures and controls already in place and not be afraid to make improvements or positive changes.

Duties will include:
Collecting, interpreting and reviewing financial information
Predicting future financial trendsReporting to management and stakeholders, and providing advice on how the company and future business decisions might be impacted
Producing financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses etc.
Developing long-term business plans based on these reports
Reviewing, monitoring and managing budgets
Developing strategies that work to minimise financial risk
Analysing market trends and competitors
