About this role

The Buildings and Safety team (BAS) provides a seamless, customer-centric, one-stop property service for building and accommodation matters for Parliamentary Service. BAS maintain, protect, and preserve the physical integrity and longevity of the parliamentary precinct for the enjoyment of the occupants and visitors, the principal client being the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
As the Select Committee Monitoring Audio - Visual Technician, your priority is to ensure select committees have no interruptions and actively address issues in a timely manner as they arise by monitoring live feeds. Bring your ability to multi-task as you monitor several meeting rooms and venues, completing house audio/visual and zoom conference checks and ensuring all gear is operational.
Working times will vary based on demand along with being added to the on call roster rotation.
Responsibilities include:
Keeping all aspects of Select Committee Audio, recording and video conference gear running and healthy, including scheduling upgrades in non-sitting weeks
Hands on for repairs and running of cabling as required including tool experience
Provide support, training and up-to-date information on processes, procedures and operating manuals as necessary including training as required
Ensure gear on site is kept up to date with current firmware versions and operational at all times including carrying out relevant checks on systems as per maintenance schedule
What you will bring to the role:
Understanding or have a passion of audio principles
Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of audio visual systems
Customer service orientated
Experienced in multitasking and prioritising

The appointing base salary for this role is $64,598 to $71,322 per annum. Appointments will be based on skills, experience and relativity (remuneration band extends beyond the appointing salary range to account for tenure progression
