We are looking for a Security Specialist to be part of the Operations team within our Digital services Group.
The Security Specialist is responsible for the overall security of our digital environment. You will provide specialist technical advice, strategy, solutions and leadership to ensure the ongoing security and protection of our information assets and systems.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing quality information and strategic security advice to the Executive, Committees and Elected Members that enables them to make fully informed decisions for our organisation and city
Leading the research and analysis required to identify and develop strategic security priorities and direction for the organisation
Leading the planning and delivery of the organization's corporate security planning processes and projects i.e. Long-term and Annual Plans, and associated reporting
Developing and co-ordinating the formulation of Council's position/response on central and local government security policy and legislation to protect and enhance the interests and priorities of Council
Management of digital services risk and risk mitigation
Leading continuous quality assurance of security strategy development and review, as well as committee reports
Leading the digital services responsibilities as it relates to corporate risk management
Ensuring information security risk assessments are regularly performed to maintain organizational security
To be successful in this role you will have:
A tertiary qualification to degree level Information Technology or an equivalent level of learning gained through experience
Significant experience in a senior security role
CISSP, CISSM, or Equivalent experience
Demonstrable work experience and proficiency in leading the development of strategies and solutions for securing and assessing security risk across a broad range of operating systems, platforms, client/server and web applications, and security services
Experience in IT Security and security incident response teams
Hands on experience with enterprise security systems, solutions and toolsets; including on premise and cloud delivered services
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Strong relationship building and influencing skills with a wide variety of stakeholders
