About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Security Engineer who has a passion for delivering high quality work and support the delivery of tangible outcomes to our business. You will have a critical role in managing security policy development and implementation to ensure that all aspects of security are properly considered and managed across NZPI. Reporting to the Information Services Manager, this role encompasses a broad range of accountabilities. You will need to manage the technical aspects of the role, including monitoring the functionality of our business systems, as well as meeting all legislative and regulatory requirements. These will include but are not limited to:
Security
Develop and deploy NZS specific policies for physical and logical computer / network security that are consistent with corporate direction
Plan and manage security audits for IS systems and network
Identify and investigate security incidents
Facilities Management
Provide management direction and ownership for VQSM
Plan and participate in Disaster Recovery planning and management for Information Services.
Provide routine reports of security considerations.
Internet/Intranet
Perform Intranet web-master role for NZPI
Provide general support to NZPI intranet developers
Permanent full-time role
Role Location: Steel Mill - Glenbrook, with flexibility to cover Pacific Steel in Otahuhu
Hours: Monday ? Friday 40 hours per week, you will be required to provide on-call after hours support as part of a rostered team
What you will bring
You will need to be someone who enjoys a challenge, can identify opportunities for continuous improvement and have a strong drive to work as part of a collaborative team. Your innovative approach to independently solve and take ownership of any issues and adapt to a changing work environment will be the key to your success in this role. In addition, we are looking for people who can demonstrate the following:
Required:
Tertiary qualification in IT
Strong understanding of network security principles
Pragmatic approach to problem solving and strong analytical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Stakeholder relationship engagement and management
Priority setting and planning skills
Proven ability to work under pressure and to tight timeframes
Curiosity and strong desire to constantly learn
Desired:
Be on track towards obtaining a Microsoft Systems Engineer Certification (MCSE) or equivalent and have suitable security certification e.g. Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
High-level knowledge and familiarity with MZ Server Stack, DR Management and Automation experience
Qualifications in facilities and security management desirable
Industry experience in an information security function
