The Role
Our Technology Operations team are looking for a Security Analyst to implement and manage security elements such as access control, firewalls, antivirus and intrusion detection systems etc. Reporting to the Security and Infrastructure Team Leader, this role will assist with daily security operations, design and monitor the security of our environment all the while maintaining our systems reliability, performance and availability. As this is a new role, additional responsibilities will be added as you gradually develop into the role and make it your own. In any one day you will:
Conduct security risk assessments of network security devices?and lead incident responses.
Develop business continuity scenarios for security specific incidents
Provide Incident response escalation, analysis and support.
Deliver reporting for operational security metrics
Assist with delivering security awareness training and development training needed to grow Cyber Security skills and awareness in line with the organisation needs.
Identifying cyber-security related risks to the organization across people, process, and technology.
Identify new and emerging hardware and software security technologies sand products, assess their relevance and potential value to the organisation as required.

The skills and personal attributes we look for are:
To be successful in this role, you need to be passionate about cyber-security, have a desire to grow the council’s maturity in this ever evolving and shifting threat landscape. You will take a logical approach to problem solving and be a conceptual thinker. You will excel at bringing others on the journey with you and you can craft your interactions to audiences of varying technical ability. You will also have:
A bachelor’s degree or relevant information Technology related qualification is essential.
3 to 7 years of experience in intermediate-level security roles or related roles such as network or systems administrator.
CISSP or CEH or CCSP or Network security certifications.
Understanding of Information Security Standards such as: NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NZISM, PSR and ISO27001.
Experience with MS Azure or AWS, with a focus on Identity & Access, cloud applications, and monitoring and alerts would be an advantage.
Sound understanding of the digital landscape, security technologies and modern policies and practices around cyber security.

The recruitment salary range for this position will be approximately$84,261.35 to$99,131.00and will be determined depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
