We have a brand-new role in our team and are looking for a Sector Insights Analyst to use first class?research and?analytical skills to?take our understanding of our customers, and?key?New Zealand?sectors?and their growth,?to another level.What you'll be doingThe Government has launched a new approach to industry policy, aimed at growing more innovative industries in New Zealand and lifting the productivity, sustainability and inclusivity of our key sectors.You will play a key role in this work and will:identify, collect, analyse, and interpret?internal and external?data?about New Zealand's key sectors to?lift NZTE's understanding?about our customers and key sectorsdevelop data-driven?sector?insights?-?especially focused on the 'so what?' and 'what if'?-?and present them?in a highly compelling way?so decision?makers are?informed by?deep and accurate?informationwork with key internal stakeholders to understand their needs and identify opportunities to provide them with high quality sector data, information and insightsprovide analytical support to the wider Business Intelligence team?to?support decision makingprovide?sector?data, information and insights?to the?Manager Business?Intelligence and Director Sectors and Coalitionsprovide?input and advice to the?Director of Strategy,?Manager Business Intelligence, and the Director Sectors and Coalitions about key New Zealand sectors.What you'll need to be successfulYou will be highly computer literate with proven experience working with data. You will have a passion for delivering high quality analytical work, and the ability to quickly gain the trust and confidence of senior leaders in the quality and accuracy of the information you provide. You will be curious, someone who asks great questions?and provides?high?quality information?and?compelling insights. You will have strong communication skills and be conformable working with ambiguity, someone who is self-directed and motivated.Insight and data analysis, along with research experience are all key to the success of this role, as well as the following technical skills:Advanced?skill?in ExcelMS?PowerBI?or similarKnowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts and experience with applicationsExperience using statistical computer languages (R,?Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets?would be an advantageWhy you'll love working hereWe're a dedicated and supportive team who enjoy what we do.
